    An increase in wind causes surface ocean currents to increase, as these currents are also wind-driven. These currents develop their typical clockwise spirals in the northern hemisphere and counter-clockwise rotation in the southern hemisphere because of the imposed wind stresses and thus will be increased due to an increase in wind
