Why is the gravitational potential energy of an object 1 meter above earths surface more than its potential energy 1 meter above the moons surface?

    Gravitational potential energy is mgh where h represents height above ground. Now it's obvious if the object is 1 metre above the surface of earth it's gravitational potential energy will be smaller than that of the object 1 metre above the moon.
