    Kinetic energy = (1/2) (mass) (speed) ²

    25.2 J = (1/2) (5.6kg) (speed) ²

    Divide each side

    by (2.8 kg) : 25.2 J / 2.8 kg = speed²

    Take the square root

    of each side: speed = √ (9 m²/sec²)

    = 3 m/s.
