    PE = mgh

    Where PE is the potential energy

    M is the mass

    G is the acceleration to gravity 9.8 m/s2

    H is the height

    PE = (500 kg) (9.8 m/s) (1200 m)

    PE = 5880000 J

    The velocity

    V = sqrt (2gy)

    V = sqrt (2x9.8x1200)

    V = 153.36 m/s

    KE

    KE = 0.5mv^2

    KE = 0.5 (500) (153.36^2)

    KE = 5880000 J
