    - a 10 m long wire of mass of 123g is stretched under a tension of 255N. a generated at one end and 20ms later a second pulse is generated at the opposite end where n = mass of the wire / length = 123 x 10^-3 / 10 = 1.23 kg / m v = √ (255/1.23) = 14.4 m / s
