The refractive index of corn oil is 1.47. As n = wavelength in vacuum / wavelength in corn oil and the wavelength in vacuum is approximately the same as the wavelength in air i. e. 5.89 x 10^-7m. Rearranging, we have, wavelength in corn oil = 5.89 x 10^-7 m / 1.47 = 4.00 x 10^-7m
