    40 m/s subtracted by 25m/s is 15.

15 has to be divided by the additional 3s which is 5

The 5 miles and the seconds left behind are 2

    Answer: 5m/s2

    Its acceleration is 5m/s2.

The formula for acceleration is Final speed - initial speed/time.

    So 40m/s - 25m/s is 15m/s.

    15m/s divided by 3s is 5m/s2.

    Thus the acceleration is 5m/s2
