If an atom is neutral how many electrons are there compared to the number of protons?

    An equal number. Electrons have a negative charge, protons positive. An equal number of positive and negative cancel each other out, hence neutral.

    There is an equal number of electrons and protrons. Therefore, the positive & negative charges cancel out. That gives the atom no electric charge.
