The top runners in the Boston Marathon complete the 26.2 miles in about 2 hours and 10 minutes. If 1609 meters = 1 mile, what is the marathoner's speed in meters/second?

    Well the speed equation is:

    s = d / t

    so, you take the distance (In Meters) and the time (In Seconds) and divide them

    2 Miles = 3218 miles

    2 hours and 10 minutes = 4200

    s = 3218 / 4200

    s = 1.3 m/s
