Whenever electric energy is used to light a bulb, the maximum amount of electric energy gets lost by getting converted to heat energy. Only the part that converts the electric energy to light energy gets utilized. This is the reason we find that the light bulbs or instruments that give out light on passing electrical energy gets heated up as well.
