If the potential energy of a box is 600 joules because it is stored on a shelf at a position of 4 meters, what is the object's mass?

    Potential energy = mass x g x height. So 600 J = mass x 9.81 m/s^2 x 4m, mass = 600 J / (9.81 m/s^2 x 4m) = 600 J/39.24 m^2/s^2 = 15.3 kg
