What happens to water levels in a closed container when a ship sinks in it? Does it increase, decrease, or remain the same

    Obviously the volume occupied by the ship will make the water level increase. This is as intuitive as asking "What do I have If i have 5 pears in one hand and 4 oranges in the other?" I have big hands.
