    Velocity after 1.10 s of free fall: vf = vi + at = 0 + (9.81 m/s^2) (1.10s) = 10.8 m/s Velocity at impact: vf = vi + at = 0 + (9.81 m/s^2) (1.85s) = 18.1 m/s or (18.1 x 2.237) mi/hr = 40.5 mi/hr
