How do people use telescopes to the underlying scientific ideas?

    They use telescopes to look at planets and look to see any meteors coming and study the universe they magnify it by using a small piece of glass as a reluctant and the shape gets larger like a cone and it focuses your eyes soo you cen see farther the without one
