    Required:

    force of gravity

    solution:

    P = F/A where P is pressure, F is force and A is area

    Since P = DgH where D is density, g is gravitational acceleration and H is height

    DgH = F/A

    F = ADgH

    Let us assume D for water is 1000kg/m3

    F = (1.5m2) (1000kg/m3) (9.8m/s2) (7m)

    F = 102,900N
