How are static electricity and current electricity alike and different?

    numbers of electrons.

    - - When electrons bunch up and stay in one place, you have static electricity.

    - - When electrons flow from one place to another, that's electric current.

    Alike - Both have charge; that is, both possess electrons.

    Difference - Static electricity is stable; it does not flow. Current is not stable and flows in the medium.
