Why will an empty water bottle contract in a cold car overnight, only if the lid is on?

As ur bottle cools down in the car it will slowly collaps into its self like a giant hand is crushing it from the outside of the bottle and when the bottle reaches the same air as the outside of the bottle

It would fog up and when it fogs up the fog will produce liquid
