How is frequency in a transverse wave similar to frequency in a longitudinal wave?

    Both kinds carry energy through a medium without transferring matter. In transverse waves, the medium vibrates perpendicular to the direction in which the wave travels, while in longitudinal waves, the medium vibrates parallel to the direction i which thewave travels.
