How does distance affect force when the amount of work remains the same

    Work (W) is the product of force (F) and distance (D) to which the system moved. These two vector quantities should have the same direction.

    W = F x D; D = W / F

    From the obtained equation for solving D, it is evident that distance and force are inversely proportional. Hence, given that work is constant, distance increases when the force is decreased and it decreases if otherwise.
