If a passenger is falling overboard, the best thing to do as a driver is to stop the engine. Putting the engine on forward gear accelerates the boat which increases the accident case, same thing with low gear transition. In this way, we try not to run over the passenger or makes the accident worse.

If a passenger falls overboard, while he or she is being pulled back into the boat, you should try to get some towels to wrap around the person's body, once he or she as been rescued and also prepare medical equipment, if ever the person needs medical attention.
