A typical set of stairs is angled at 38∘. You climb a set of stairs at a speed of 3.3 m/s.

1). How much height will you gain in 3.6 s?

2). How much horizontal distance will you cover in 3.6 s?

    I think its like this:

    All your really doing is looking at components. And using trig.

    1) y=3.3sin (38) (3.6) = 7.308m

    2) x=3.3cos (38) (3.6) = 9.36m

    This should make sense since with a 38 degree slope you will travel more in the horizontal direction than the vertical direction.
