    The only real eligibility requirements for candidacy to the office of President of the United States (or Vice President, as the requirements are actually the same) is that the potential candidate not be a former president with two terms in office; be a natural born citizen, be thirty-five years of age or older; be a resident of the United States of America for at least fourteen consecutive years.
