A 20kg rock is on the edge of a 100m cliff. what gravitational energy does the rock process relative to the base of the cliff

    Gravitational potential energy = (mass) x (gravity) x (height above the reference)

    = (20 kg) x (9.8 m/s²) x (100 m)

    = (20 x 9.8 x 100) kg-m²/s²

    = 19,600 joules.
