Why do scientist make models?

    They create models in order to make sensible and educated predictions about what will take place in the future.

    Models can also be used to figure out how much a business should spend on research and investment, including certain materials used for products. These models are developed by financial engineers who can rightly be regarded as scientists.

    In the ordinary scientific world, models can be used to predict the rate at which an atom will decay.
