What is the difference between charge by contact and charge by induction?

    In charging by contact electrons are transferred by means of direct physical contact. Therefore a body with one type of charge produces the same type of charge on a conductor.

    In charging by induction electrons on one part of an object cause the electrons to move to the part facing away from it. In this process, the opposite type of charge is produced.
