A car covers 100 meters in 10 seconds. To do this, the wheels put a force of 500 Newtons on the ground. What is the power of the car?

    Power is the energy dissipated or used per time. It is the rate of doing work. It is expressed as P = W/t. Work can be calculated from the product of force and distance. We calculate as follows:

    P = Fd/t

    P = 500 (100) / 10

    P = 5000 J/s or 5000 W
