    East to West since the Earth rotates from west to East. That is at the Equator where the maximum of it is in the Ocean with no hindrance from much land. Particularly in Pacific the flow is almost free & the reason why when they cross the first barrier of Indonesian Islands, they deviate away (to Low Pressure areas on the Lands to north) as the strongest Monsoon winds in the Indian Ocean
