How does an egg drop device being dropped demonstrate Newton's 3rd law?

Newton's Third Law states that equal amounts of force is propelled onto each side of the contraction when being dropped or pulled. This relates to the egg drop device because when it hits the ground, the egg is being smashed and the ground getting hit by the egg.
