How do you best determine whether j/m2 and m*s2/N are equivalent units?

Compare the written form of the units to see if they look the same.

    Both should be written in terms of SI base units to be compared.

    J = kg*m²/s²

    J/m² = kg/s²

    N = kg*m/s²

    m*s² / (kg*m/s²) = s⁴/kg

    Thus, they are not equivalent.
