    a. most people remain in the same social class as their parents.

    Social mobility is the ability of a society of creating mobility within its own social classes. So, for example, a son of a low social class that becomes rich and thus become a member of a higher social class. A society could be more or less able to have mobility, and as far the states are an example were most people remain in the same social class as their parents.
