Cutting is a behavior that involves harming oneself intentionally with a knife or any sharp object. It is collectively known as self-injury or self-harm behavior which most commonly appears in teenagers.

Individuals with this behavior of hurting themselves are not actually trying to kill themselves but instead, they have strong emotions of anger, rage, frustration or pain which they can’t adequately express in other ways. Doctors classify this cutting as impulse control disorders.
