"Frustration-aggression theory" refers to the tendency to aggress when we perceive that our progress is thwarted.

Frustration-aggression hypothesis, which is also known as frustration-aggression-displacement theory was presented in 1939 by John Dollard and Neal Miller who later in about 1941 developed it further. Other people have since worked on it also.
