Social contract theory: that by contract, people surrender to the state the power needed to maintain order and the state, in turn, agree to protect its citizens. Divine right theory: Belief that certain people are either descended from gods or chose by gods to rule. Monarchy for social contract theory. Republic for divine right theory.

Well, I'm not sure what you mean with divine right, but I'm guessing a form of construction where the choice of religion is at the head of the country.

As for the social contract, there are countless answers. First of all, you need to define your social contract. Depending on how you shape the social contract, you will shape a certain type of government/leadership of any kind.

Read up on people such as Hobbes, Locke, and Rousseau and I think you will then get a better idea of what exactly a social contract can be. For instance, the Leviathan by Hobbes will be a very good read I think for you.
