Kendra believes that her mother and teacher deserve respect because 1) they are adults 2) she could get in trouble for being rude to them. But her younger brother can't discipline her. She will also be kind to her brother around her parents because she knows how to manipulate and pretend to be nice so that she won't get in trouble.
