    The answer is both active and passive euthanasia are sometimes permissible

    Rachel argues that there is some cases where a patient is trapped in a situation where he/she no longer be cured, unable to function, and experienced a high amount of pain.

    In this cases, She believed that euthanasia should be permissible because it considered as an act of mercy.
