Why did conflicts occur between the different groups living in the american southwest?

Conflicts occurred because White Americans opposed and fight for property rights with American Indians. They attempted in taking over the resources - water resources and their grassland suitable for pasturage rights; Indian’s holy places was scarcely and rarely respected by the Settlers.
