    I think the first texas woman to drive her own cattle to abilene was: Margaret Borland

    in 1867, Margaret's husband was died and she was left alone to took care of her children and the ranch that the husband left her.

    In order to sold a cattle to a potential buyer she travelled by foot along with her cattle from Texas to Abilene in order to meet that potential buyer
