The Middle East, or mainly the Fertile Crescent, was a key spot for people early on. The large rivers meant people had a reliable source of water and food. With the ability to farm allowing people to not have to move around. The Fertile Crescent was again perfect. The people could depend on the annual flooding of the rivers to replenish the soil allowing them to grow as much food as they needed and more. Religion was always there. The accepted idea was that is came after the establishment of civilizations. However, recent discoveries have found that religion was actually established well before civilizations and cities. What the cities and civilizations allowed was for the religions to create larger more expansive monuments and more detailed hierarchical structures for the people and priests.
