A controlled experiment takes into explanation the variables that can move the experiment and therefore controls what the variables is and how the variables affects the procedure.

The hypothesis sets the phase for the experiment because the whole experiment is based on your hypothesis. The hypothesis is your educated guess what will result from the experiment. The outcomes will authenticate your hypothesis, therefore meaning the experiment is driven by your hypothesis.
