Industry vs. Inferiority This is the fourth stage of Erik Erikson psychosocial development, as the founder of this theory puts it, it happens between the ages of 5 and 12 years of age. This is where the kids pick up difficult subjects on their own, do maths addition, subtraction and multiplication. Also at this stage, the child seeks the need for approval and friends hold a very large space in their lives, in the case of Levi, he sees that he can do certain things that his peers can't and he will feel good about himself as the theory rightly states.
