There are 4 types of economic interest groups - business groups, agricultural groups, labor groups, and professional associations. These interest groups are found at every level of the government namely at the local, state, and national levels.

Although the American farmers represent only 2% of the U. S. workers, they have been successful in lobbying for the support of government and these agricultural groups do seem to influence the government's agricultural policies on a large scale.

Many of these agricultural groups are commodity-based organizations like the National Grange, Farm Bureau and National Farmers Union. In general, these organizations represent all the farmers and their groups.
