Falling leaves adeline yen mah what motivates the characters

This book is an autobiography of a young Chinese girl. (The story of an unwanted daughter). Her life was lead with tragic events. Her mother died shortly after her birth, and her father's second marriage with the women who has no affection for his husband's children. Adeline struggles to find a place where she belongs. There was a denied love from her parents but what motivates her is that she finds some solace in relationship with her grand father Ye Ye and aunt baba. Her other achievements are a brilliant academic, doctor and a writer.
