One major advantage of citizen journalism or having "citizen journalists" is that we get a first hand report of an event that is happening at present. Citizen journalists disseminate these information to us. It will be truthful and unbiased since there are many others reporting also. There are many who are against citizen journalism. The disadvantages cited are that citizen journalists are not professional journalists and do not have the proper training. Most of them are not objective and the news they share are their personal opinions and feelings. They do not have training in knowing what to publish and what not to publish. Reliability of their news is questionable.
