India follows a common law system while the United Arab Emiratesis a civil law jurisdiction. Its legislation system is based on Egyptian laws. The main difference is in the source of law. In India, precedent has great importance in while in UAE, precedent is only used as a guidance. So in the UAE, two cases with the issue may result in a different verdict, depending on the judge's interpretation of the matter, which is irrespective of earlier verdict of the matter.
