Emerging adulthood is a time frame during which most individuals are " sexually active and not married".

Emerging adulthood refers to the time-frame in one's life from 18 and 25 years of age. The term was coined by Jeffrey Arnett in the American Psychologist in a 2000 article. This is the time between adolescence and full-fledged adulthood when most people are sexually active but not married yet.
