How did jazz blend cultural influences and cross-cultural divides?

    Jazz originated in the South in the early 1900s. The sound was created through a mixture of European and American classical music, blended with slave folk songs which were influenced by West African cultures. This new culture of music allowed segregated communtites to come together for the first time and enjoy the arts
