I'm thinking the question might be looking for you to identify the work of CBS television news reporter Edward R. Murrow. On his television program, "See it Now," Murrow challenged the behavior and baseless smear campaign that Senator McCarthy was carrying out. On the March 9, 1954 edition of the program, Murrow's team aired "A Report on Senator Joseph McCarthy," which began a process of calling out the senator for his extremism. By December of 1954 McCarthy was censured by the Senate.
