Would shaw and mckay favor efforts to fight crime by "getting tough" and locking up more offenders, including juveniles in prison?

    No, they wouldn't.

    They believed that the best method to reduce crimes is by giving the persons who are most likely to conducted crimes with something meaningful that could discourage them from doing the crime. (Such as new job opportunities, or the love of friends and families)
