When lincoln was elected president in 1860, what were his views on slavery

    His views included:

    -Not allowing slavery to expand any further in America.

    -Allowing slavery to remain in states that already had it.

    * Lincoln did not like slavery and wanted to end the practice eventually but he was not an abolitionist. He respected the Constitutional right to own slaves.
