How did the courtiers entertain themselves at special jour's d'appartement?

Whatever festivities there were, that the King and Queen either attended or organized the courtiers would be with them. They would have the opportunity to listen to music or singing, also to dance. Basically whatever the activities there were at the party or a festival they would have been a part of it.
